Employee Benefit Information

Medical Insurance (Including Wellness)
With rising healthcare costs, SPASD is committed to ensuring that employees are managing their own health to the best of their abilities. 

Alternative Benefit Plan (Cash-in-Lieu) information can also be found on the Medical Insurance page.

Dental Insurance
This plan has been designed and selected by the district holder as one of the benefits of your employment.

Life and AD&D Insurance
As an eligible employee, the District provides basic life and accidental death and dismemberment insurance. 

Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS)
Retirement benefits are available to vested WRS employees after an employee separates employment and has reached age 55.  Benefits are based on both employee and employer contributions.

Long Term Disability
As an eligible employee the District provides Long Term Disability (LTD).  Long Term Disability insurance is designed to replace a portion of your monthly salary in the event of a covered disability. Click here to be taken to the National Insurance Services (NIS) website for more information. 

Voluntary Benefits
Employees participating in voluntary benefits are responsible to pay the full premium for these benefits.

OPEN WINDOW RETIREMENT PROGRAM has been extended until 2016-2017 for those teachers, administrators, and support services staff that qualified in 2015-2016 with 15 years of service and reached the age of 55 (57 support services). Eligible employees will need to submit their letter of retirement on or before March 15, 2016 to retire July 1, 2016; or on or before March 15, 2017 to retire July 1, 2017.
