At Plover-Whiting Elementary, we recognize that parental involvement is like an iceberg. So much of it takes place "beneath the surface". Many parents may not be able to be visible at school as volunteers. However, as a parent, you can help support your child's schooling by doing things such as: keeping in touch with their teachers about concerns and successes, supporting the school staff on student behavior issues, reading to your child at home, listening to your child as they tell you about their day at school, helping support their completion of homework, etc. These are so important to a student's success in school, and yet are perhaps "invisible". The positive effects, however, are not.

Plover/Whiting Elementary School is a member of the Stevens Point Area Public School District. The school is located within the Plover community and includes students from both the Plover and Whiting municipalities.  The school is set on a large lot which provides woodlands, grassy playing fields and both hard and soft top playing surfaces for a variety of outdoor activities. In 2005, we added a paved running and walking track, thanks to the efforts of our school's PTO.

School Hours:

Elementary school hours are from 9:05 a.m. to 3:35 p.m.  Adult crossing guards are on duty at Plover-Whiting Elementary School each school day before and after school.  Staff is on duty on the school playground beginning at 8:45 a.m. each school day.  We ask that non-bus students do not arrive at school before that time, as no adult supervision is available.  Parents, we ask for your help in this effort to have children leave home at an appropriate time to gauge their arrival at school.

Children who ride buses are expected to return home on that bus unless a written note from their parent/guardian explaining a change of routine accompanies the child.
